B.I.G Launch Day

British Inclusive Golf Launch Day on Friday 24th January at Longley Park Golf club was a great success. There were two organisations from within Kirklees that turned up for this first indoor taster session, first to arrive was Highfields Day Care where 2 carers and 5 service users had a go at the indoor golf and Boccia the latter being provided by the Charity Demand.

The second group to attend was from Creative Minds based at Enfield Down, Honley run through the South West Yorkshire NHS Trust group. There were 2 carers and 8 service users who first played the game of Boccia and then moved to target golf. To end the afternoon session we had a little competitive knockout at Golf where Joshua Merrick shone through winning a close fought battle. The atmosphere during the session was really good with all participants enjoying the day.

Thank you to all the volunteers, service users and carers for making it a very enjoyable afternoon. Appointments are being made to take the sessions to both Highfields and Enfield Down in the very near future.
