The Drive Behind Disability Golf

Wallsend

Another great day out at Wallsend Golf Club in the North East.

8 golfers turned up for this a changed venue, the course was ideal for disabled golfers being fairly flat and open and its a course we will certainly be returning too! The staff were friendly and the food was good as well as being generous in donating a prize for our forthcomingCHARITY GOLF DAY in May. so thank you Wallsend Golf Club for making our day a good one.

The golf was a close affair with 3 golfers all on 38pts Gary Cooper came out on top with the best back 9, from Ian slowther and John Irivine who has now lost a shot off his handicap. Mike Oxley won the nearest the pin which was on the 16th. It was nice to see Chris Lozinski return to us after a break and surprisingly playing left handed now, it showed as his golf was much improved.

A special award went to Wendy Oxley who scored her best score ever 3 points beating her previous best of 1 pt, Wendy who is a stroke survivor only plays the holes that she feels able to play so for her this was agreat achievment Well done Wendy your next target is 5 points.
