Grip Par Open Charity Golf Day at Longley Park

7

On Friday 25th October 2013 saw the first ever GRIP PAR Open to be held annually at Longley Park Golf Club in Huddersfield which is home to the charity British Inclusive Golf. 24 golfers took part in the 4 ball better ball format competition, the weather for October was exceptionally good, the golf course was in great condition for the time of year. The pairings were random with no one knowing who they would play with on the day which made a bit more interesting. The scoring was very close with Ian Slowther from Newcastle and Afzal Shah from Longley Park winning, with Longley Park Pair Steve Tann and Graham Wilson coming a close second. The nearest the pin was won by Steve Tann and longest drive was won by John Thompson. £366 was raised on the day with the money being split between FELIX FUND (charity for bomb disposal) and Longley Park Hill Fund both receiving £183 each.
