Ingleby Barwick

The Drive Behind Disability Golf

Ingleby Barwick

It was the last organised golfing event of the year at Ingleby Barwick. The golf club kindly allowed buggies on the course and at times it was difficult to find a path through the course due to the amount of rain that had fallen during the week.

A special thanks to Keith Pickering who braved the weather and travelled all the way from Suffolk to be with us for this last full golfing day of 2012.

Despite the weather the scores were quite good Keith Pickering winning the selected holes competition, John Irvine came 2nd with the overall winner Kevin Booth with 37pts.

We had a great after dinner meal and Kevin talked to the manager of Ingleby Barwick who is setting things in place to make disabled golfers very welcomed at the club. The two golf professionals at Ingleby Barwick are specially trained to work with people with disabilities, so British Disabled Golf hope to form a good working relationship with the club in the future.
