The Drive Behind Disability Golf

5 members of British Disabled Golf in the North East took part in a get together at Sharpley Golf Club near Seaham,Tyne & Wear.All rounds were completed in sunny weather and the course and greens were in superb condition for this time of year. A fantastic day was had by all and everyone enjoyed the course, which although short had some very difficult greens and much water and sand.The competition was fierce and some excellent scores were registered on the day.The 18 hole competition was won by Gary Cooper of Blyth with 43 points, 2nd was Paul Weymes of Newcastle with 41 points and closest to the pin on the par 3 5th was Ian Slowther of Wylam. Winning the home made trophy for coming last was John Irvine of Blyth with a still creditable 35 points.

Matt Mahoney  (22)        35 points

John Irvine   (25)           35 points
