Stands

It was a cold day at Stand Golf Club, the course was covered with a ground frost early doors but as the start time came the course looked in immaculate condition for the weather we have had.
However I dont think anyone expected the severity of the hills and hollows that Stand Golf Club has, everyone who had their own ride on buggy struggled towards the middle to end of the round but that was not always due to the hills but also the howling cross winds.
Having said all that the 10 golfers that took part fully enjoyed their day, only 1 person retiring at hole 12 (near the clubhouse) because of injury and not the weather. The scoring was low which was too be expected TEX WILLIAMSON narrowly winning with 30 points on count back. Brian Parsons won the nearest the pin on Hole 16B, yes 16B, hole 13 is out of use and the club have made hole 16 into 2 holes until the work is completed.
I would recommend this course to anyone as its in a beautiful surrounding and really well looked after, the food was second to none, without doubt one of the best before and after golf meals we have had, but unfortunatly we as a group will not be going back there for obvious reasons, however having said that, I would imagine individuals I am sure most will go back and have another go, I know I will.
